And, this is exactly the stage that comes with the steam music player. Now, we'll move on to setting up steam's device and the process of getting great music to play. In this tutorial, we are using a Mac device, but the same software works fine on Linux and Windows. So we'll start the steps?
How to Add Music to Steam
Step 1 - Download, Install and Set Up Steam
As we said earlier, the Steam software is available for Windows, MacOS and Linux operating systems. Depending on your device, it may take a few minutes or longer to download the program. You must have a Steam account to use this software. You can create it directly from the installation wizard and it will only take a few seconds. Just confirm your email address and you can use the Steam platform on your Mac. There will be a bunch of options when you turn on Steam for the first time.
But for now, we'll stick to the music part. And, you have two ways to add music to steam and playback - desktop mode and big picture mode. Both modes offer a unique experience, and we'll introduce both of them. Are we ready?
Step 2 Put the music and listen to the track
in desktop mode
Desktop mode is what you see when you open the Steam app normally. It needs to be noted that Steam has a requirement for an internet connection to function smoothly. Once you've opened the Steam app, you follow the steps below.

Click the OK button if you choose the source folder. Just wait a few seconds and you can see all the selected tracks in your Steam library.
As you may have noticed, there are some additional deals. For example, you can enable this option to scan the library at startup. This means that the selected folder will be scanned and synced with your library. You need to enable this option if you always update your music collection. There are some other controls too, but we should be better off leaving them.

The Steam music player can be launched and used within the desktop. All songs that have been added to the library will be too instantly accessible. Using the app, the following steps are not enough.

If you've used Steam for a while you'll be familiar with the big picture mode. For PC, Mac and Linux users, it's an easy way to get a truly steamy entertainment experience. When you enter big picture mode, the full screen window can be seen to the top. It basically feels like you're running a real steam engine, with big controllers and all. And so on, you can even connect the actual controller with your PC and get the feeling even more real.
